This is no ordinary time for Maine.

The challenges facing us in the next decade are great, but so are the opportunities – if we are willing to make tough choices and focus on our many competitive advantages.

Too many Maine people are out of work or struggling to make ends meet. Our state government is too remote, too big, too unfriendly, and too expensive, and our approach to everything from economic development to education is fragmented and inefficient.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Maine can work.

Together, we can create jobs and raise incomes. We can educate our kids and keep our young
people here. We can lower the cost of electricity and health care. We can fix our government so that it works for all of us at a price we can afford to pay.

All we need is a sound plan, along with strong, independent leadership, fresh thinking, proven management skills, total honesty, and lots of hard work.

That’s what I want to provide. That’s why I want to be your Governor.
